That long stretch of road.

Well, this is the 1st in a LONG time that I've stayed in my house for the whole day. And I've been thinking about a lot of things.

Firstly, about cosplay. I started this hobby last year. when I saw a lot of good cosplayers at Cosfest '07. I was really amazed by the work that they had done, and I was thinking, "Maybe I can do the same thing too..." I had really wanted to try cosplaying as Harima Kenji from School Rumble, since I loved the anime and I know I can pull it off really well.

Then my 1st cosplay event as a cosplayer came, in WCG Coscon. I joined the competition because I overspent on my costume (I went to a normal tailor =_=) But hey, I got 2nd runner-up. Not too shabby considering I got $200 back. I decided to use that money on my EOY cosplay.

Along the way, I had lots of cool friends too. Most of them I had found through SGCafe, which was the main cosplay forum. There were the wacky ones like Shinji, the silly ones like Negi, the "silent-but-can-give-one-liner-killer-sentences" ones like Neng, and shorties like Shinso (sorry! XD), among others.

Heck, I was involved in most cosplay events, but more than just cosplaying. I was the co-emcee for EOY '07. And cos-sing as Jeryy from D.Gray-Man~ =3

After that, I made it a point to cosplay characters that wear shades or masks. Why? I'm to scared of wearing contacts. But hey, I'm smart enough to go around it. XD

So my next event was SOY '08, a new event hosted by Ngee Ann Polytechnic. I went there as Mr. Karate from Art and Fighting, and Setsuru tagged along as Yuri Sakazaki. It was a hilarious day there, and even though I didn't win the competitions, I enjoyed it a lot. Even the audience liked Minoru's Hare Hare Yukai dance that I did. But the emcees sure gave screwed up questions like "If you see a Neko (cat) on the street, what would you do?" =_= Even one girl (sorry I forgot your name, but I damn sure remember your face XD) called me p***s-head. Well, for obvious reasons. Think of my mask~

Then fast-forward to Streetfest! I had my 1st real gig with Absinthe. I was the drummer. =D It was really a surreal experience, but even though I screwed up a bit, I felt that I did pretty well for a first. The audience loved our performance too! Big props to the rest of my bandmates: Jem and YK the guitarists, Gene the bassist and Winnie the vocalist. You guys rock!

Then it was cosplay time! I did B-Bone from GuitarFreaks! I had always wanted to do a Bemani character for a long time. This cosplay was the hardest one I did to date, as I had to body paint my arms a lot to make them grey.

Hmm, oh yeah. Before that event, I had suggestion from Sloth to join his Arrancar group. They were missing a few members, including Kaname Tousen. Then I was thinking, "Maybe I should do a serious character once in a while..." So I joined his team. And that's how I joined my current clique right now. I'll talk more about them later.

Next event up was the Singapore Toy and Comics Convention. I spent the 1st day roaming around, getting freebies and playing the games there. Then on Day 2, I was cos-sing as Afro from Dance Dance Revolution. Ya, man. I even played DDR Supernova 2 dressed up as him! Shinji and Sephora sabotaged me. =3

Oh yea, I remember that time I was on stage. I was singing the Gatsby song with Spidey as a Dynasty Warriors character with super-huge red lion hair. XD

Then came the big event: Cosfest '08. The Arrancar team was one of the more eye-catching cosplays, as I expected. I myself didn't expect to do such a good cosplay of Tousen. Some girls even asked if I was the real guy! -sweats-

I also did Don Kanonji some time later, at Anime Festival Asia. It was the most relaxing, AND most tiring cosplay at the same time. I can act like an idiot however I like, but doing that BWAHAHAHA pose is painful~ >.<

Hmm, I have probably 3 more cosplays to go before I semi-retire/retire (see how, ya). But along the way, I've met some great friends, I found my first love, and I had a LOT of fun. Here's to the new generation of cosplayers; hope you guys do better than us!!!
